Aidan has been BEGGING for Rockband since before last Christmas. We finally broke down and offered to pay half. They have loved playing on it! I have to admit it's pretty fun. That's how we spent Family Home Evening. BTW we're awesome!

Breaking Dawn
My copy arrived today! I'm sooo excited. I pre-ordered my copy in April from Amazon. About July 31st when all the buzz was getting really loud, I checked my order and saw that it wasn't due to ship until the 6th of August. FOUR days after its release. I was starting to regret I'd pre-ordered it...I could just go buy it and have it sooner. But then the ship date changed to the 2nd and I decided I could wait a little while. Now its here! I guess I'd better clean my house before I start because as you can see, I've been blogging all day and haven't done it yet. And when I'm reading a good book everything else gets ignored. I was a late bloomer and didn't start the Twilight series until this April and you should have seen my house during that week!! Well I guess I'll start cleaning and maybe I'll check my crockpot recipes...

Back Way Home
After our trip to Utah and Idaho we decided to take the "back way" home on highway 89 (I think thats it). We visited Great Gramma & Grandpa at the cemetary and stopped at the Manti temple. It is such a pretty drive! We did encounter some extreme weather changes as you see in the pictures...somewhere between Manti and rejoining I-15 just before Cedar City. The new route was a good change of pace.

Mini Family Reunion
After a few days in Idaho, we stopped in for a visit with the Utah Vances. Jeff was able to fly up Friday night so he could drive us home...plus I'd only seen him 2 days in the last 2 weeks. While we were there they organized a BBQ with the Brionez and Vance families that live in Utah. It was so great to see them all and just play and catch up. Thank you!

Summertime Getaway

Me and the "little" kids (Jeff & Jake couldn't come) made the trip up north to my sister's in Idaho. They had a great time with cousins and it is cooler, so playing outside for a change was a joy (for kids and parents alike). We went to Lava Hot Springs for the first time and that was lots of fun. All the kids were so brave. The boys jumped off the diving platform and Anissa did both water slides by herself! It's so pretty up there...it ALMOST makes me think I could live there. I say almost because I've also seen it covered in snow during the winter. It was so nice to see family and get a break from the duldrums of Vegas heat. Thanks for letting us visit your little "peace" of Idaho!
